General Information
Interlocking Paver Blocks have been widely used throughout the world, and has been recently been introduced and patronized in India. Also. These blocks are widely replacing the traditional concrete and bricks pavements and even bituminous roads.
Use of Paver Blocks result in tremendous saving in time and reduced inconvenience to the users. The Paver Blocks, being factory produced, ensure good quality and uniformity of shape, shade and size besides consistency of strength. The same cannot be said in respect of traditional concrete and bituminous pavements and roads.
With Paver Blocks, beautiful design and color patterns can be easily achieved as these can be given any shape, pattern and shade during manufacture. This advantage is not possible with traditional materials.
It has very good wear resistance and the grooves between the individual inter-locking blocks provide added safety against slips and skidding of movies vehicles.
Laying the Paver Blocks is a simple operation and does not require either highly skilled labour or costly and elaborate machinery for laying as in the case with the traditional concrete and bituminous pavements and roads.
Maintenance of Paver Blocks paving is extremely easy and very economical as any single damaged piece can be replaced anytime and without the need of any diversion of users or any traffic dislocation etc.

Technical Information :
Compressive Strength
The compressive strength of the specimen of the paver blocks determined by dividing the maximum load by the surface area of the paver blocks.
Procedure of determining the compressive strength
The compressive strength testing machine should be capable of proper load application and should have the lading capacity more than the required. The load gauge showing the load should be calibrated frequently from the authorized laboratory, so that the accuracy of the gauge guaranteed.
The specimen shall be placed in the machine with wearing surface upward and the specimen shall be aligned with the plates of machine at both sides. After the proper placement of specimen in the machine at both sides. After proper placement of specimen in the machine the lad shall be applied and it shall be increased gradually at the rate of approximately 15 N / mm2 per minute, till the maximum lad is achieved. The maximum load shall be recorded. The same procedure shall be applied over the three or four separate specimen.
Calculation of compressive strength
The compressive strength is determined by dividing maximum load (Beard by the specimen) divided by the surface area of the specimen. This is calculated at average of the least three test results.
The average compressive strength shall not be less than the required strength of 30 N/mm2, 40N/mm2 for M-30, M-40 or M-50 Grades of concrete respectively. The concrete grade other than the above may also be used depending on customer's requirements. The consignment of paver blocks is divided into a number of lots. Each lot is inspected and tested separately for ascertaining its conformity to the strength requirements.
